Girard Interiors and Dwyane Wade Make a Difference for Local Children

Children’s Aid and Family Services recently held their annual Spring Gala at  Hackensack Country Club which featured a wide assortment of culinary treats as well   as silent and live auctions featuring unique and valuable items. One featured auction  item, supplied by Girard Interiors of Westwood, was a jersey signed by their celebrity  client, Dwyane Wade, point guard for Miami Heat and a gold medal winner in the  2008 Summer Olympics.

Girard Interiors, with the request of “Make a Wish” helped make a  very sick teenage girl’s wish come true.  Girard designer, Kim Luikert  worked with the teenager, her Mom and Make a Wish to fulfill her  dream.  We asked several suppliers to help with offering Girard’s  additional discount in order to complete this wish.  Cox  manufacturing, Closets by Design, Masland Carpets and Stanley  Furniture all agreed to help.  What was even extra special about this  “wish” .........Jay Lorenzo, furniture rep for Stanley, told his teenage  son about this project.   His son, Jason Lorenzo a Sr. at Manasquan  High School, upon hearing about our request offered to pay for the  complete wood trundle bed himself by working this past summer.

It was lights, camera action at Girard Interiors, Westwood NJ for a few days as HGTV shot on location for a new show titled “under one roof”. The program featured a Ridgewood NJ couple unable to decide among themselves, how to decorate their media/family room.  HGTV requested Girard’s to help decide and participate in this show.  Pictured Wendy Girard with Design show host and camera and audio crew on location at the Girard Interior Showroom.
